Nocona Motorsports Park

Back in the 90’s the Lundy family made a play motocross track for their grandson to play on. As he became a better rider they expanded the track. Soon it was open to the public. Professional riders such as Trey Canard, Blake Wharton and John Short as well as many others came to ride what had become known as ” The Best Dirt in Texas” Nocona Mx Park. The original sign in front of the track read Nocona Mx

The Best Dirt in Texas which was made and given to the Lundy family by John Short’s father.

It remained in the family and ran as one of the most prestigious legendary tracks in all of Texas due to the amazing dirt. After Leroy passed in 2008 the track closed shortly after. Only opening occasionally for special events. In 2012 it was closed completely. Where it fell into disrepair after years of neglect.

In 2017 I bought the property and began the long process of restoring the iconic track to its former glory.

I’d ran it as a motocross track until 2019. With so many really nice tracks in the DFW I wasn’t able to draw the kinda numbers I needed to make it. Faced with the choice of selling the property or revamping it. After noticing that all of the motorsports dealers were flooded with side by sides and virtually no motocross bikes. There aren’t that many short tracks that side by sides and quads could ride every weekend. I decided to change the track to a side by side/quad track.

We had started the remodel of the track last January 2020. We’d filled in all the gaps rounded the jump faces and widened the track its 1.4 miles of great dirt.

We were about to open in February of 2020 when the Covid pandemic hit. We’ve been struggling to get going ever since.

We are now open for practice on weekends weather permitting 9am to sunset. The track sets up well for side by sides, quads and beginner motocross riders as well as little guys.

The track is prepped on Saturday $30 fee Sunday no prep $20 fee.

Primitive camping is free we have 8 30amp rv hook ups $25 per/night.
